Record GCSE results for Weobley pupils

Yet again, pupils were celebrating as GCSE results hit an all-time record high and firmly placed Weobley as one of the country’s top-performing schools with results way above the national and local averages.  With 90% of pupils now achieving 5 or more A*-C GCSE grades and 66% achieving this including GCSE English and Mathematics, overall results have leapt by 10% across the board.  Indeed, over 60% of pupils actually achieved 10 or more high-grade GCSEs and the proportion of A* and A grades has also increased dramatically.  The progress made by pupils has remained in the top flight nationally.

Mr. Williams, Headteacher, was delighted, “This is a superb set of results; I am so pleased for the pupils and their families.  The key to our success is the amazing quality of teaching and learning which takes places here.  The staff here work incredibly hard and when we achieve results like these, it is very rewarding.”

 

 

These results were achieved within a few months of the school being judged as “Outstanding” by OfSTED in what Mr. Williams describes as “one of the most positive OfSTED reports I have ever seen”. All aspects of the school were praised and this has led to a great deal of local and national interest in how the school has improved so rapidly to such a high standard. It is clear that the school continues to go from strength to strength and predictions for next year are even more ambitious. Watch this space!
