Congratulations to all our students on their GCSE achievement

Another set of record GCSE results for Weobley High School students

Students at Weobley High School were celebrating again this week as GCSE results hit an all-time high. 98% of students achieved 5 or more GCSEs and 80% achieved 5 or more A*-C grades. Incredibly more than half actually achieved 10 or more A*-C grades and a quarter of these achieved 10 or more A and A* grades. This is an unprecedented achievement for the school with more students than ever achieving the coveted high grades.

“Overall GCSE results have leapt again this year. This is thanks to the hard work of the staff and students; we are all delighted. I am particularly pleased that we are managing to produce such impressive results whilst maintaining a relentless focus on a broad and balanced curriculum.” said the Headteacher, Dean Williams.

56% of the students achieved 5 or more GCSEs including English and Maths. This sustains the huge progress made last year when Weobley was placed as one of the most improved schools in the country on this measure.

Exceptional performances were Sarah Pledge (16 GCSEs, 7 A*s), Beth Hanson (14 GCSEs, 8 A*s), Ryan Hurds (15 GCSEs, 11 A*s) and Jessica Kitson (14 GCSEs, 9 A*s)
